AREVNER AT THE SQUARE OF INDEPENDENCE
   This day “Arevner” ensemble was having a 1 hour long concert at the the Square of Independence. The audience was different- children and adult strolling in festive Yerevan, Armenians who had come from different regions and countries. All of them were not only listening to “Arevner” but also joined their rhythms with joy.

   “Arevner” greeted the founders of the centre and guests from Diaspora at 20th anniversary of Tekeyan Centre’s foundation in Yerevan.

AREVNER IN SYRIA
Armen Divanyan’s “Arevner” ensemble was invited to Syria on December 20-22 by the Hamazgayin Cultural Community. Both children and adults were looking forward to “Arevner”’s concert because they were aware of the program and watched the ensemble’s activity on satellite television. As it turned out during the meetings, group’s songs were taught in educational institutions of Aleppo. On December 21 the ensemble was at Haykazyan and Sahakian schools, kindergartens where children received the singers by singing songs about New Year and Santa Claus. Many of them also were present at the “Zavaryan” hall to listen enjoy “Arevner”’s whole concert on December 22 at noon. Hamazgayin’s dance group "Shushi" headed by Suzan Mirzoyan also took part in concerts of Aleppo. During the whole concert Armenian children living in Syria danced and sang, so at the end of it they didn’t want to leave and wanted the ensemble to continue the concert. The audience of different ages attended the evening concerts on December 21 and 22 and listened to the concert showing warm attitude and even singing some songs with the exact words. A visit to the ancient Fortified citadel made the 2 days spent in Aleppo unforgettable. This inaccessible structure surrounded by the river in both sides many centuries ago made an incredible impression on the whole team. Throughout the history it was reigned by both Christian and Islamic kings. The Armenian king Tigran the Great also ruled this fortress for six years.”Arevner” tried to catch his breath in the king hall. AREVNER IN LEBANON
Armen Divanyan’s “Arevner” ensemble was invited to Lebanon on December 23-28 by the Hamazgayin Cultural Community. On December 25 and 26 the ensemble performed in the “Hovhannes Poghosyan” hall. As those in Aleppo, in the concerts in Beirut also took part Hamazgayin’s famous children groups: Zakar Keshishyan’s “Karkach” choir and the dance group “Gayane” headed by Andranik Grigoryan. Well-known intellectuals in Beirut, state officials and clergymen attended the concert. Antilias’ Bishop KHacherian and the Mayor of Burj Hammoud Andranik Meserlian honored the concert by their presence. Initially Lord's prayer was sung during which the audience standing. At the end of the concert AREVNER and KARKACH sang joint Armen Martirosyan’s “Karmir, kapuyt, ciranaguyn”and Armen Divanyan’s“Hayastan”songs. Due to the enthusiastic members of Hamazgayin Community four days of this trip became splendid and the concerts passed greatly. Many meetings, fun parties and dances were planned in schools, Barsegh Kanachyan’s musical school. Such events were planned when singers had free time. All the children made friends with each other. Arevner visited the most amazing place of Lebanon - JEITA mountain cave. They also visited Byblos coastal museum-memorial ruined by earthquakes, where high columns can be seen, the audience’s and the stage places and the school. Hot, sunny weather let the singers tour on the boat along Mediterranean Sea. On December 26, since the morning “Arevner ” were in Antelias Museum, saw the memorial built in of the genocide victims and participated in Sunday's liturgy. AREVNER IN BULGARIA
   From June 16-30 “Arevner” participated in International Folk festival, which took place in Bulgaria. Armenian folk was represented at this international festival. Audience were inhabitants of Primorsko, Bulgarian little town, which is already festival town, where groups from 20 different countries were invited.
   Most of the participants were surprised that though Arevner is a pop-group, it also manages to represent such a different genre as folk is . Bulgarian audience best liked the Armenian song “Hanik-nanik” , which was singing “Arevner” vocal Septet , and every other day they wondered , if this song was in the program again. In the festival agenda the 21st of June was marked as the Armenian day, and they showed Armenian folk ritual “Vardavar”, taught the dance- song, which traditionally is played on that ritual. “Arevner” danced with participants of other nationalities. On the same day Armenian delegation had a free concert schedule and has a chance to represent the hits of their repertoire. The other groups confessed that the most impressive song was “Karmir, kapuit, tciranaguin”.” Arevner” ’s supervisor Armen Divanyan says: “ It’ s very important that besides singing in this lovely town children also had time to have a rest on the coast of the Black sea and be back to their motherland healthy and full of impressions.

   June 3- Arevner was Armenian Catholicos Ter Ter Garegin B’ s guest, sang for him and got his blessing.
 
NINTH CONTEST-FESTIVAL OF CHILD-YOUTH SONG ”AREVNER”
   Arevner 9-th contest-festival was held on June 1, 2. Six songs won From 18 final songs in “youth” and “child” nominations .The authors of these songs were awarded. You can listen these songs on our website and watch on www.YouTube.com. They also may be watched in our TV program.
  The judge were rock musician and composer Gisane Palyan, TV host, composer Marina Tagakchyan, author of many song’s lyrics Anita Hakhverdyan, symphonic conductor Rouben Asatryan, the author of musical and entertainment TV programs Tigran Haroutyunyan, stage director Aram Suqiasyan, representative of the Ministry of Culture, the representetive of “Shoghakat” TV Hermine Stepanyan. The art director of the contest is Armen Divanyan. The sponsors are the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Culture, informational sponsor is ATV.
